Our Story
In 2003, Brent Munnerlyn began selling fireworks from a modified enclosed trailer in Lexington County, SC, under the name SAM Fireworks. What started as one humble trailer quickly grew into multiple stands across the region as customers returned season after season. By 2017, Brent opened BadaBoom Fireworks in Lexington, SC—a full retail store packed with unique products and room for families to browse, explore, and find exactly what they needed. In 2022, Brent secured state and national trademark rights for Joe Dirt Fireworks and opened the first branded location just off I-20 in Augusta, GA. The name evolved, but the commitment stayed the same: exceptional product, unbeatable pricing, and a customer-first experience. Every new store now carries the Joe Dirt Fireworks brand, built on nearly two decades of knowing what works and what people actually want.
While the retail side was growing, Munnerlyn Pyrotechnics was earning its own reputation. Since 2009, the company has expanded into a major regional operation, producing over 200 professional shows every year with a crew of 59 licensed shooters. Weddings, corporate events, stadiums, municipalities—if it requires real pyrotechnic expertise, Munnerlyn delivers. In 2023, Munnerlyn Pyrotechnics became a distributor of Wizard and Raccoon 1.3G professional products, helping fill a major gap in the Southeast's access to top-tier display-grade fireworks.
The Next Evolution: Drone Light Shows
In 2024, Munnerlyn added a cutting-edge division: Sky Canvas Drone Shows. Using state-of-the-art
choreography software and advanced fleet technology, Sky Canvas brings a new dimension of entertainment
to the Southeast—environmentally friendly, fully programmable, and capable of stunning aerial storytelling.
Drone shows now operate alongside traditional pyrotechnics to offer hybrid displays unlike anything else in the
region.

which products actually perform, which effects create impact, and how to help you bring your vision to life—big
or small.
